Established in 1948, the Maricopa Lapidary Society is a non-profit organization devoted to educating its members and the general public about the lapidary arts. We help share knowledge about rocks and minerals along with the creative skills in cutting and polishing these materials to reveal their natural beauty.
Due to Covid-19 we will not have a meeting for April. The North Mountain visitor Center is closed until the city of Phoenix determines it is safe for people to gather again in large groups, therefore all classed and meetings are suspended until further notice.
Lapidary Classes will be starting up in June on Wednesdays from 9:00 am till noon . Price is $60 for 12 hours of Instruction. The class will be held in Doug's room at the North Mountain Vistors Center. Call Doug for more info at 602 973 4291. This class fills fast and there is room for only four students so call Doug as soon as you know you want to take his class. There are three brand new grinding/sanding units and at least one brand new trim saw for your use.
No plans for field trips at this time.
